Descriptions

Drosophila Slpr, a mixed-lineage kinase (MLK), is required for Jun-N-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling. The N-terminal half of Slpr is involved in regulated signaling whereas the C-terminal half promotes cortical protein localization. The SH3 domain negatively regulates Slpr activity consistent with autoinhibition via a conserved proline motif. Slpr activation requires dual input from the MAP4K Misshapen (Msn) and the GTPase Rac, which both bind to the LZ-CRIB region of Slpr.

5 GO annotations of molecular function

Name Definition
ATP binding Binding to ATP, adenosine 5'-triphosphate, a universally important coenzyme and enzyme regulator.
JUN kinase kinase kinase activity Catalysis of the reaction
MAP kinase kinase kinase activity Catalysis of the phosphorylation and activation of a MAP kinase kinase; each MAP kinase kinase can be phosphorylated by any of several MAP kinase kinase kinases.

13 GO annotations of biological process

Name Definition
cellular response to ethanol Any process that results in a change in state or activity of a cell (in terms of movement, secretion, enzyme production, gene expression, etc.) as a result of an ethanol stimulus.
dorsal appendage formation Establishment of the dorsal filaments, elaborate specializations of the chorion that protrude from the anterior end of the egg and facilitate embryonic respiration.
dorsal closure The process during Drosophila embryogenesis whereby the ectodermal cells of the lateral epithelium stretch in a coordinated fashion to internalize the amnioserosa cells and close the embryo dorsally.
dorsal closure, elongation of leading edge cells The change in shape of cells at the dorsal-most (leading) edge of the epidermis from being polygonal to being elongated in the dorsal/ventral axis.
imaginal disc fusion, thorax closure The joining of the parts of the wing imaginal discs, giving rise to the adult thorax.
imaginal disc-derived female genitalia morphogenesis The process in which the anatomical structures of female genitalia are generated and organized from the genital disc.
imaginal disc-derived male genitalia morphogenesis The process in which the anatomical structures of male genitalia are generated and organized from the genital imaginal disc.
JNK cascade An intracellular protein kinase cascade containing at least a JNK (a MAPK), a JNKK (a MAPKK) and a JUN3K (a MAP3K). The cascade can also contain an additional tier
positive regulation of JNK cascade Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of signal transduction mediated by the JNK cascade.
protein autophosphorylation The phosphorylation by a protein of one or more of its own amino acid residues (cis-autophosphorylation), or residues on an identical protein (trans-autophosphorylation).
protein phosphorylation The process of introducing a phosphate group on to a protein.
response to heat Any process that results in a change in state or activity of a cell or an organism (in terms of movement, secretion, enzyme production, gene expression, etc.) as a result of a heat stimulus, a temperature stimulus above the optimal temperature for that organism.
vascular endothelial growth factor receptor signaling pathway The series of molecular signals initiated by a ligand binding to a vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) on the surface of the target cell, and ending with the regulation of a downstream cellular process, e.g. transcription.
