Descriptions

The Odhl protein is a Krebs cycle key regulator in C. glutamicum. The unphosphorylated form of OdhI inhibits the fourth step of the cycle, and the phosphorylated form is inactive. The unstructured N-terminal segment of Odhl undergoes considerable conformational changes upon phosphorylation by CgPknA or CgPknB. These changes comprise a switch of the N-terminal part of the protein in close vicinity to the FHA domain phosphopeptide binding site, leading to a fully inactive protein unable to bind to OdhA.
