Descriptions

ADCK1 belongs to UbiB protein kinase family and may be involved in mitochondrial function. A similar protein, COQ8A, is autoinhibited by the intramolecular interaction between N-terminal region containing KxGQ motif and catalytic domain. The KxGQ motif in ADCK1 may also occlude the substrate binding site of the kinase domain.

3 GO annotations of cellular component

Name Definition
extracellular region The space external to the outermost structure of a cell. For cells without external protective or external encapsulating structures this refers to space outside of the plasma membrane. This term covers the host cell environment outside an intracellular parasite.
integral component of mitochondrial membrane The component of the mitochondrial membrane consisting of the gene products having at least some part of their peptide sequence embedded in the hydrophobic region of the membrane.
mitochondrial inner membrane The inner, i.e. lumen-facing, lipid bilayer of the mitochondrial envelope. It is highly folded to form cristae.

2 GO annotations of molecular function

Name Definition
ATP binding Binding to ATP, adenosine 5'-triphosphate, a universally important coenzyme and enzyme regulator.
protein serine/threonine kinase activity Catalysis of the reactions: ATP + protein serine = ADP + protein serine phosphate, and ATP + protein threonine = ADP + protein threonine phosphate.

4 GO annotations of biological process

Name Definition
lipid homeostasis Any process involved in the maintenance of an internal steady state of lipid within an organism or cell.
mitochondrion organization A process that is carried out at the cellular level which results in the assembly, arrangement of constituent parts, or disassembly of a mitochondrion; includes mitochondrial morphogenesis and distribution, and replication of the mitochondrial genome as well as synthesis of new mitochondrial components.
negative regulation of mitochondrial fusion Any process that decreases the frequency, rate or extent of merging of two or more mitochondria within a cell to form a single compartment.
positive regulation of cristae formation Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of cristae formation.
