Descriptions

The Src-family kinases include Src, Hck, Fyn, Lyn, Lck, Yes, Fgr, Blk and Frk. They are involved in diverse cellular functions such as immune responses and cell survival and proliferation. The SH2 domain binds to the C-terminal regulatory tail, facilitating the SH3-SH2-kinase linker interaction. SH3 domain engages the SH2-kinase linker, which adopts a polyproline type II (PPII) helical conformation. These interactions result in the inhibition of the kinase activity of HCK.

9 GO annotations of cellular component

Name Definition
cell-cell junction A cell junction that forms a connection between two or more cells of an organism; excludes direct cytoplasmic intercellular bridges, such as ring canals in insects.
cytosol The part of the cytoplasm that does not contain organelles but which does contain other particulate matter, such as protein complexes.
endocytic vesicle A membrane-bounded intracellular vesicle formed by invagination of the plasma membrane around an extracellular substance. Endocytic vesicles fuse with early endosomes to deliver the cargo for further sorting.
extrinsic component of cytoplasmic side of plasma membrane The component of a plasma membrane consisting of gene products and protein complexes that are loosely bound to its cytoplasmic surface, but not integrated into the hydrophobic region.
glutamatergic synapse A synapse that uses glutamate as a neurotransmitter.
immunological synapse An area of close contact between a lymphocyte (T-, B-, or natural killer cell) and a target cell formed through the clustering of particular signaling and adhesion molecules and their associated membrane rafts on both the lymphocyte and the target cell and facilitating activation of the lymphocyte, transfer of membrane from the target cell to the lymphocyte, and in some situations killing of the target cell through release of secretory granules and/or death-pathway ligand-receptor interaction.
membrane raft Any of the small (10-200 nm), heterogeneous, highly dynamic, sterol- and sphingolipid-enriched membrane domains that compartmentalize cellular processes. Small rafts can sometimes be stabilized to form larger platforms through protein-protein and protein-lipid interactions.
pericentriolar material A network of small fibers that surrounds the centrioles in cells; contains the microtubule nucleating activity of the centrosome.
postsynaptic specialization, intracellular component A network of proteins adjacent to the postsynaptic membrane. Its major components include the proteins that spatially and functionally organize neurotransmitter receptors in the adjacent membrane, such as anchoring and scaffolding molecules, signaling enzymes and cytoskeletal components.

Name Definition
antigen binding Binding to an antigen, any substance which is capable of inducing a specific immune response and of reacting with the products of that response, the specific antibody or specifically sensitized T-lymphocytes, or both. Binding may counteract the biological activity of the antigen.
ATP binding Binding to ATP, adenosine 5'-triphosphate, a universally important coenzyme and enzyme regulator.
CD4 receptor binding Binding to a CD4, a receptor found on the surface of T cells, monocytes and macrophages.
non-membrane spanning protein tyrosine kinase activity Catalysis of the reaction

SH2 domain binding Binding to a SH2 domain (Src homology 2) of a protein, a protein domain of about 100 amino-acid residues and belonging to the alpha + beta domain class.
signaling receptor binding Binding to one or more specific sites on a receptor molecule, a macromolecule that undergoes combination with a hormone, neurotransmitter, drug or intracellular messenger to initiate a change in cell function.

22 GO annotations of biological process

Name Definition
activation of cysteine-type endopeptidase activity involved in apoptotic process Any process that initiates the activity of the inactive enzyme cysteine-type endopeptidase in the context of an apoptotic process.
B cell receptor signaling pathway The series of molecular signals initiated by the cross-linking of an antigen receptor on a B cell.
cell surface receptor signaling pathway The series of molecular signals initiated by activation of a receptor on the surface of a cell. The pathway begins with binding of an extracellular ligand to a cell surface receptor, or for receptors that signal in the absence of a ligand, by ligand-withdrawal or the activity of a constitutively active receptor. The pathway ends with regulation of a downstream cellular process, e.g. transcription.
gamma-delta T cell differentiation The process in which a relatively unspecialized hemopoietic cell acquires specialized features of a gamma-delta T cell. A gamma-delta T cell is a T cell that expresses a gamma-delta T cell receptor complex.
innate immune response Innate immune responses are defense responses mediated by germline encoded components that directly recognize components of potential pathogens.
intracellular zinc ion homeostasis A homeostatic process involved in the maintenance of a steady state level of zinc ions within a cell.
phosphorylation The process of introducing a phosphate group into a molecule, usually with the formation of a phosphoric ester, a phosphoric anhydride or a phosphoric amide.
positive regulation of gamma-delta T cell differentiation Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of gamma-delta T cell differentiation.
positive regulation of gene expression Any process that increases the frequency, rate or extent of gene expression. Gene expression is the process in which a gene's coding sequence is converted into a mature gene product (protein or RNA).
positive regulation of intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway.
